Marcus Tan

Co-Founder

Marcus Tan is a visionary nursery owner whose passion for greenery initiatives has shaped the urban landscapes of Singapore, Malaysia, India, and the Middle East. With years of experience, Marcus has established himself as a leader in the industry, contributing to the transformation of cities into sustainable and vibrant urban environments. As the owner of Merry Horticulture International in Malaysia, Marcus has spearheaded the supply of millions of trees and plants to landmark projects across various countries. His dedication to upholding high-quality standards and sustainability practices has earned him recognition for excellence and reliability in the industry.

 

As a certified arborist, Marcus's expertise extends beyond tree production and supply. He has successfully managed large-scale tree management and logistics operations, ensuring the seamless transportation and distribution of trees and plants for major projects. Through efficient inventory management systems and close collaboration with project stakeholders, Marcus has played a key role in fulfilling greenery requirements and exceeding expectations. Throughout his career, Marcus has received accolades and awards for his outstanding contributions to city greening initiatives and sustainable urban development. His commitment to excellence, coupled with his focus on quality, sustainability, and efficient logistics management, has positioned him as a trusted provider in the industry.

 

With a diverse range of project experience, Marcus has supplied trees to iconic landmarks such as the Singapore Gardens by the Bay, Dubai World Convention Center, and Qatar Hamad Airport Expansion project. Damian Tang

Co-Founder

Damian Tang stands as a luminary in landscape architecture and urban sustainability, boasting an illustrious career spanning over two decades. From his current role as Chairman of the Circular Cities Summit (CCS) to his former tenure as Senior Director at Singapore’s National Parks Board (NParks), Damian has been at the forefront of pioneering initiatives promoting sustainable urban development, park management and biophilic design. His expertise extends across strategic environmental project oversight, multimillion-dollar parks project management, and groundbreaking contributions to global sustainability endeavours. As the founder of URDX Studio, Damian specialises in regenerative design, leveraging insights from neuroscience to shape parks, cities, urban developments, and therapeutic spaces both indoors and out, earning him multiple accolades and reinforcing his status as a leader in sustainable design and landscape architecture.


Throughout his career, Damian has left an indelible mark on the landscape architecture field, overseeing nationwide landscape design and greenery planning at NParks, enriching Singapore’s urban green spaces and ecological resilience through innovative design and community engagement. His leadership extends beyond design and project management, with active involvement in technical committees and advisory panels such as the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Architectural Design Panel and the PUB Active, Beautiful, Clean (ABC) Waters Monitoring Committee. Damian was awarded three Minister’s award in 2009, 2012 and 2021. He was also honoured with 2020 National Day Public Administration Medal by the President of Singapore. With a portfolio adorned with awards and honours, and a commitment to fostering global collaboration and sustainability, Damian Tang stands as a driving force in advancing urban development initiatives worldwide.
